What properties should Custom Printing Books digital printing paper have?

As an important material in printing work, how should digital printing paper be used, and what are its properties and characteristics? Please see the following analysis of printing paper:

Printing paper must have the correct moisture content, well-controlled electrical properties to ensure good pigment adhesion, and no curling, so as to ensure that the paper has good printing performance on digital printing presses.

(1) Moisture. For uncoated paper, it should be controlled at 4.5 percent to 5.5 percent , and coated paper should have less moisture. High moisture levels can lead to uneven surfaces and speckled imperfections.

(2) Electrical. The electrical conductivity that can be balanced and controlled within a certain range can avoid defects such as spots, maintain color stability and good adhesion of pigments.

(3) Roughness. Ideally below 300 Bendsten units. Paper with high embossing cannot retain pigment in the raised part, which will affect the image and quality.

(4) Consistency. The format and size of the paper should be uniform.

Since it has now been realized that digital printing paper is very sensitive to the environment, it is necessary to consider changes in the moisture content of digital printing paper when packaging. Cellophane packaging can ensure that the paper remains in the same state from the manufacturer to the printer, but once the cellophane is opened, the performance of the paper is difficult to maintain. Paper is typically moved from temperature-controlled warehouses to cool trucks and then into the warm pressroom. Ideally, the printer should follow the advice given by the paper manufacturer and allow sufficient time for the paper to acclimate to the pressroom environment before it is printed on the machine. But because of the tight printing schedule, nine times out of ten the paper is printed directly from the delivery truck to the press.

High pressure gloss paper has its own unique problems. Calendering with a calender increases the density where the fiber assembly is high, thereby changing the electrical and moisture properties of the local paper and affecting the way the pigments are distributed.

The paper should have a smooth coated surface so that it can bond well with the pigments. Uncoated (or some coated) papers are first surface treated to ensure image adhesion. The paper should also have some oil absorption and high surface strength.
